Feeling unwell after the virus?
Most people know about long-haul COVID-19 where ill health continues months after the illness 😥 I’ve posted about this before.
But did you know testing shows that old viruses living in your body can be re-triggered by COVID-19?
This includes Cytomegalovirus and Epstein Barr, or reactivated mycoplasmas - a parasitic bacteria that can cause disease.
Many of us harbour these in our bodies as viruses and mycoplasmas can lie dormant without causing much, if any, harm until provoked, usually by environmental or external factors.
So you may not have long-haul COVID, but rather a re-infection of an old disease.
What can you do about this?
Apart from getting tested to determine what specific course of action you might take, your innate immune system is your best weapon against cells reinfected with a virus or mycoplasmas.
You support your cells by improving your general health, or your body’s terrain.
This includes by eating whole foods, hydrating well, resting, avoiding stress, and reducing exposure to pollutants like chemicals and pesticides.
A powerful and safe drink that can help is to sip this hot drink, made in a cup or teapot (so you can strain it)
Grated ginger
Crushed garlic
1/2 lemon, juiced
1 teaspoon of raw honey
Hot water
You could also add in some grated fresh or dried turmeric
