What microbiome mapping (stool testing) tells you

Microbiome mapping

I use different labs to assess the microbiome from a single stool sample. This provides information that I use to design a corrective diet and create a balancing supplement protocol.

One test I use provides information on the gut’s physiological processes as well as microbes at the species level that cause disease or disrupt normal microbial balance, contributing to illness.

The other panel I use provides microbial balance information at a more detailed strain level, allowing someone’s diet to be designed in a more specific way. It doesn’t provide information on gut physiology.

But this is particularly useful for someone more interested in using food to correct gut imbalances, including pregnant or breast-feeding women who are unable to take eradication supplements.
