My 12 kitchen staples

This is my list of what I try and have in my kitchen - my staples that keep me nourished and energised when I don’t have time to do a proper shop.

In no particular order they are

  1. Olive oil

  2. Apple cider vinegar

  3. Eggs

  4. Tinned fish (wild caught)

  5. Avocado

  6. Bone broth

  7. Brassica veggies - broccoli and cauliflower

  8. Mixed salad leaves

  9. Coconut yoghurt

  10. Pumpkin seeds

  11. Protein powder i.e. collagen or whey isolate

  12. Tomato

Why these? Because they're quick and easy, delicious, nutritious, and ensure I can have a healthy meal if shopping hasn't happened and I'm hungry.

Also, I make sure I don't have sugary things in the house unless I've made a conscious decision to do so e.g. for Xmas Day or a birthday, and then I only have a small amount.
