hEDS impacts the gut.
When people who live with the constant struggle of unexplained bloating, reflux, nausea or “IBS”… it could be hEDS. It often goes undiagnosed.
Our gut is deeply connected to our connective tissue, nervous system and immune health.
In hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos, the same collagen weakness that affects joints also impacts the gut wall, motility and structural integrity — leading to inflammation, mast cell activation, and even SIBO. This is my story, but it took me a long time to work out and get confirmation.
These gut symptoms are real, and they make sense once we are conscious, and understand what’s happening beneath the surface.
