Why I don't have a niche

As a functional nutritionist and functional medicine practitioner, my focus inherently approaches health with a holistic, integrative view.

So the thread tying together my varied and seemingly unrelated focuses like chronic disease, weight loss and menopause, mould illness, autoimmunity and gut health, is the foundational principle that all our body systems are interconnected. Functional health seeks to address the root causes of these, which naturally spans a variety of conditions.

Also, whether it’s addressing gut health, hormonal imbalances in menopause, or immune dysregulation in autoimmunity, mould toxicity or weight loss resistance, my work centres on helping the body regain balance. I understand that gut health, inflammation and nutrient imbalances all play a role in all these conditions.

Additionally, functional nutrition and medicine tailors strategies based on each individual’s unique physiology, biochemistry and lifestyle. This means that while the conditions may differ, the core methodology—digging deep to find root causes, whether it's gut dysbiosis, hormonal imbalances, or toxin overload—remains consistent across specialties.

I look at the body as a whole system, where one area affects others. For example, gut health can impact autoimmunity or weight gain, and hormonal imbalances can affect chronic disease and mould illness. This systems-based approach ties together a wide variety of conditions under a single philosophy.

In short, my diverse expertise doesn’t reflect a lack of focus—it embodies a holistic, interconnected approach where different specialties represent facets of overall wellness, connected by the goal of restoring balance and function within the body.
