Alkaline vegetable and herb broth

This nutrient rich, mostly vegetable and herb broth, not only alkalanises your body preventing disease, but it’s a delicious addition to soups, curries, stews or you can simply drink it by itself.

Approx 3.5 litres

ingredients

1 bunch celery, chopped roughly

1/2 head cabbage, chopped roughly

2 onions, chopped roughly

2 carrots, chopped roughly

4 cloves garlic, smashed

3cm piece of ginger, sliced roughly

1/2 bunch parsley

3 bay leaves

Seaweed or sea vegetables, 2 tbsp shredded or a strip of kombu

1 tbsp natural salt to taste

Filtered or spring water

directions

  1. Place all ingredients into a large soup pot, adding filtered water covering the vegetables by 4 cms

  2. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 2-4 hours

  3. Strain and store in glass jars
